Moisture can easily build up beneath your leadwork in an appropriate lead underlay is not used. This is as condensation will begin to form as temperatures fluctuate. Your underlay must therefore allow air to flow and form a protective layer between your lead sheets and substrate. 

Our range of lead underlays include one crafted from polyester and another crafted from reinforced bitumen. These are each suitable for use on lead flashings over 600mm wide, where an underlay is necessary to prevent corrosion of the lead. They are also crafted by British Lead, the UK’s leading manufacturer of rolled lead sheets.
