New Research Shows the Cost of Homes Around the World

With ever-rising property prices grabbing headlines 24/7, it’s hard to ignore the fact that getting on the housing ladder is becoming ever more difficult for many in the UK. But how do we compare to the rest of the world? Our team of experts looked into the data to reveal the world’s most and least affordable countries in which to buy property. The most affordable continent to buy a home in may surprise you!

To develop the rankings, we took data from Numbeo to discover the cost of a square metre of real estate in cities in over a hundred countries, which we then compared to average annual salaries to find a ratio for affordability in each country. We even used this data to talk about the countries with the highest wages in the world, with Switzerland and Luxembourg taking the top spots.
