Which Thickness of Multiwall Polycarbonate Do You Need?
Our polycarbonate sheets are available in six different thicknesses. These include 4mm, 6mm, 10mm, 16mm, 25mm, and 35mm. Each is purposely designed for different applications, ranging from balcony dividers to conservatory roofing.
If you intend to use our multiwall polycarbonate sheets for a roofing project, be sure to use between 10mm and 35mm. If you're using it to create a safety barrier on a balcony or other form of cladding, either 4mm or 6mm is ideal. The thicker the polycarbonate is, the more strength it will provide.
How Do You Join Polycarbonate Sheets?
Joining multiwall polycarbonate sheets is easy. You simply use a purposely designed connector bar, which can be easily adjusted to suit various thicknesses. The two sheets simply slide into either side of the connector bar. Unless you are building a self-supporting system, this bar then rests upon your timber frame.
How Do You Cut Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheets?
To cut a multiwall polycarbonate sheet you'll simply need a fine tooth saw. This needn't be powered, as cutting the sheets by hand will allow you to achieve a cleaner and more accurate cut. Also ensure that the polycarbonate is at room temperate, as it may split if cut when extremely cold.
