Aluminium decking is a highly modern alternative to traditional decking materials. Thanks to their aluminium construction, these decking boards are non-combustible, making them much safer than natural timber. What’s more, aluminium decking boards are designed with ease-of-use in mind, featuring a rapid interlocking system for swift installation. Being made from high-strength aluminium also gives this decking fantastic durability, featuring a double-peak profile and an anti-wear surface making it perfect for use in high traffic areas. Plus, aluminium will never bend, warp, splinter, or rot, making it the ideal low maintenance decking solution.
Another massive advantage aluminium decking possesses is the integral gutter system, which allows for easy drainage and water management, along with a double seal connection preventing damage to the decking substructure. This makes aluminium decking boards a fantastic option for flat roofing applications as well as garden decking. Thanks to a completely hidden fixing system, your new aluminium decking area will look exceptionally stylish and modern, with no unsightly clips to be seen. Our aluminium decking range is made by Clear Amber, who are known throughout the industry for their commitment to outstanding build quality and innovative design.

How Much Does an Aluminium Deck Cost?
Aluminium decking is actually incredibly cost-effective when compared to traditional timber. An aluminium deck area will set you back around £13 per square metre, not accounting for labour costs. In contrast, timber decking can cost as much as £100 per square metre, depending on your choice of material. What’s more, an aluminium deck will be far easier and cheaper to maintain over time, decreasing the cost across its long lifespan.
Does Aluminium Decking Scratch Easily?
No, thanks to the sturdiness of the aluminium material and anti-wear surface, aluminium decking does not scratch, scrape or scuff easily, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. Plus, it will neither fade nor warp over time due to heavy foot traffic.
Does Aluminium Decking Get Hot?
Contrary to what you might imagine, aluminium decking is actually very effective at keeping cool, even in direct sunlight. This is thanks to its light weight, as its low mass allows it to disperse heat energy very efficiently, staying up to 25% cooler than timber decking in the same conditions. So your decking area will be comfortable, even at the height of summer.
Will Aluminium Decking Rust?
Many people assume that aluminium decking boards are susceptible to rust, due to the fact that they’re made from metal. In fact, aluminium is immune to rust, even if it gets wet regularly. This is because rust is formed when iron is oxidised, but as aluminium contains no iron, there is no danger of your decking area suffering from rust.
How Do You Clean Aluminium Decking?
Aluminium decking is very easy to keep clean. We’d recommend using a mixture of warm water and gentle detergent, along with a soft sponge, cloth, or brush to wipe away dirt and debris. Thanks to the sleek, metal surface of this decking, it’s super easy to remove dirt that can become trapped in natural materials such as timber.
How to Cut Aluminium Decking
Aluminium decking can be cut easily, provided you have the right tools and experience to use them safely. This can be done ideally using a chop/mitre saw, but is also possible using a circular saw.
- Mark out where you’d like to cut, using a straight edge and marker pen
- Carefully cut along this line using your power tool, until you cleanly cut end-to-end
- Wipe off the freshly cut edge to ensure there are no shavings
- And you’re done!
As always, be sure to wear the correct safety gear before carrying out any work, and consult the manufacturer’s guide before you begin.
